An EAN Happy Ending for our next year in review story!
This one is called 'Angel's Story'
The network had the chance to help Angel twice this year. We first learned about Angel and her sibling dog after their owners, Brian and Ashley lost their home in a devastating fire in March. The family was not home at the time of the fire, but both dogs were inside. They were pulled from the fire by firefig...hters and Angel required resuscitation at the scene from smoke inhalation. The dogs had lost all their toys, beds, and blankets in the fire, so Erie Animal Networkers stepped up to donate food, toys, blankets and two new beds to these two sweet dogs, whose family had lost everything. Fast forward to the summer. We received word that during the move to their new home, Angel has escaped during transport. The search for Angel, (who still required breathing treatments from the fire), was one of the largest outpourings of community we have seen! We received many sightings, and networkers were out on foot searching. After many, many long days of Angel not being found, networker Lori was able to reach out to the shy and scared Angel when she spotted her, and got her to follow her and her dog home. In a short time, Angel was reunited with her elated family. Thank you networkers for going above and beyond to help Angel!
