Saving Sam

The next featured story for the 'EAN year in review' is called 'Saving Sam':
Sam started out having a happy life with his loving owner, until she passed away. Sam was left outside to fend for himself, and became the victim of not only the elements, and dangers, but some serious abuse by kids in the neighborhood. After he was let outside, Sam was hit by a car. Then some kids tied him to their bicy...cle and dragged Sam behind. He endured horrible pain, and his nail ripped out, and he had a stick impaled in his side. Sam was in bad shape and he was alone. Sam laid low, but decided to trust a kind woman named Suzanne who was feeding him. She eventually was able to take him into the vet, where he was treated for a blood infection from his injuries. He was taken back again later to be neutered and have his shots. Suzanne took it upon herself to help him, and paid all the expenses. After he was healed once again, she contacted EAN to help Sam find a loving home. Networker Judi saw Sam and instantly felt a connection. She adopted Sam, and never looked back! Sam is now happy, loved and safe in his forever home with Judi's family. Sam is a survivor! And we applaud Suzanne for going above and beyond to help Sam when he needed her most. And to Judi, we thank you for opening up your heart and home to Sam! Suzanne and Judi- You are heroes!
