Violet & Kittens

Today's story for the 'EAN year in review' is called
'A Networker's Rescue':
In early April, on a cold and rainy day, networker Judy and her neighbor discovered a cat wedged in a drainpipe under a driveway. She was in labor. The cat was pulled out and taken to be cared for in Judy's home, along with the 2 newborn kittens that the mom cat was 'hugging' to keep them warm. Her labor was blocked by ...a still born kitten, and Judy assisted her labor. She went on to give birth to more kittens, with one in need of resuscitation by Judy. The mother cat's condition was bad. It was apparent that she had been laboring and stuck in the drainpipe for quite a while. She had open pressure sores, and her hind legs were paralyzed. Judy, who has training as a vet tech kept her and her babies warm, and safe and and applied and administered medications as advised by the vet. After 4-5 days passed, the mom cat regained the use of her back legs, and the miracle was the paralysis was temporary. This miracle mom and her kittens are alive today because of Judy's compassion. The kittens turned out beautiful and healthy, and they all went to their forever homes. The sweetheart mom, 'Violet' is still waiting for her forever family at Orphan Angels. Judy, you are a hero and we commend you for helping this cat family when they needed you!
